Transition time

I took this picture last week on Crew's last day of preschool with the Early Intervention program. The yellow swing is fun fun fun. I want one in my basement.

Now that Crew is 3, he moves into the Special Education Preschool. Tomorrow is the big day that I send him off. The bus comes at 8:05 AM. I'm nervous. His teachers don't know Crew. They've observed him once or twice but haven't spent any real time with him. Will they know how to care for him? Will they love him? I feel good about the main preschool teacher. It seems that she cares about the children which is the most important requirement, I believe! In my heart I know it will work out but it's the "natural" mom in me to worry!

  1. You're a mom-- WE WORRY!!
I'm certain little Crew will do great. The teachers will love him because that is why they are there-- and how could you not love and care for a little face like that.
It seems like it will be a great thing. Can't wait to hear about it!

  2. It is so great to have other teachers to help teach our kids. It reminds me of when I was little. I learned a great deal from others as well. What a great social experience he will have. He will love it too (being a pretty good people person). You'll be ok. I remember when Becky (SIL) sent S off. She said she cried pretty hard. love ya.

  3. Wow!! That swing looks fun. Do they have one of those for adults. I can't imagine putting my little 3 year old on a bus. I agree it is just the mother in us to worry worry. However, I did notice the other day when we were at Subway, ALL the workers couldn't stop looking, smiling, and admiring how cute little Crew was. So, in an effort to calm your nerves, if Subway employees are taken back by the sweet effects that Crew puts off, any preschool teacher should be equally if not more moved to love this Crew. There is not one ounce of him not worthy of love.
    Good Luck.

  4. (((hugs))) Oh Mel, I know exactly how you're feeling. A year a go this was my post! And yes, as mommies we always worry! I can't wait to hear an update.

PS -- I sooo badly wish to put a therapy room in our house and the big yellow swing would be there too!

  7. Is there any way that you can go and be with him like for the first few days. I am such a control nut that I would go insane with worry too.
