One word: Motivation.
During Crew's PT appointment yesterday we discussed finding something to motivate Crew. This has been a major topic for us since the beginning of Crew's PT days. What mother wants to hear that their child is lacking motivation.
Wikipedia states, "motivation refers to the initiation, direction, intensity and persistance of behavior. Motivation is a temporal and behavioral state that should not be confused with personality or emotion".
Okay, I feel better now:) It's not his personality that needs changing just behavior. In an effort to motivate Crew to roll I used the best thing I could think of..... ICECREAM. I have just one thing to say, "Icecream does the trick:)"
Hey- Ice cream motivates me!! And I hope you do serve it for breakfast. It will make me feel better about letting my kids eat cake or brownies that I've made the nite before... :)
ReplyDeleteOur first PT through EI was amazing with Jack. We used anything and EVERYTHING to motivate him to MOVE! For Jack the non-toy household objects worked best. His favorite back then? Red Solo cups...lol, whatever works, right? I am thrilled to hear the ice cream worked! Way to go mommy and Crew!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! We all need a little motivation from time to time... and I'm with Crew, ice cream works! :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone loves ice cream! Ice cream actually motivates me to get off the couch sometimes. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are going to make Juicy Juice ice pops to motivate Bella to use the potty. I thought I was pretty clever coming up with that motivational treat. :-)
What's wrong with ice cream for breakfast?
ReplyDeleteI swear a chemical reaction happena in my body when I eat icecream. It is just a feel good food. Icecream, has milk in it right? Plus it is food, so it is something in your tummy? These all seem like good things to me. I'm glad to hear that Crew's tastebuds are in good working order. What a cutie pie.
ReplyDeleteI am back from hiding - - again. I love your blog. I sure miss you and your fam. I have to agree that icecream fixes everything. C has a bit of a Texas accent and pronounces it a little differently. It is quite embarrassing in public. I'll tell you on the phone sometime - I don't want to swear online! he he
ReplyDeleteice cream motivates me too!
ReplyDeleteI like your flower pictures:)
